]The little guard that could – did it. Centennial HS Winterguard has won 1st place in the SAA division at the NWAPA Winterguard Championships with a score of 77.5. The guard put on a near flawless performance this morning and awed the crowd with their show. It brings to and end the competition season for 2010 but what a season, with first place finishes at all four of the local shows. This from a program that was nearly “put under the bus” by the school district and administration. The Winterguard staff, Robin, Aleshia, and Ryan did an outstanding job creating a show that really worked for this eight member guard. They worked very hard to teach each of the members to acheive beyond themselves and come together as a unit.

This is it… the guard will perform this Saturday morning April 3, at 11:36am at Liberty High School in Hillsboro for the right to be called 2010 NWAPA Scholastic AA Champions. Unlike most competitions where there are prelims and finals this time they only perform once. The competition will conclude with a full retreat starting at 1:42pm.
We really hope you will come and cheer on the CHS Winterguard as they perform for the last time this season.

Winterguard wins 1st place SAA division at Westview

The guard kept there hold on the Scholastic AA division with another 1st place in both prelims and finals today. This was the last competition before going to the NWAPA championships in two weeks. The guard has placed 1st in each of the four local shows they have competed in. Pics and video of todays show will be posted soon

A Chance Meeting
Come and see the guard perform in the last competition before championships. There are six guards scheduled to compete in the Scholastic AA class. The CHS guard will have to perform a great show to come out on top again but believe me their up for it. They have been practicing hard all week and even got in a dress rehearsal at a school assembly on Thursday morning. It should be a good turnout so come early and see all the guards in action in prelims. Directions and schedules are on the NWAPA website…

The Winterguard will have the opportunity to perform their show for the school during an assembly this Thursday morning at 8am.
The guard and the parents association would like to thank the school administration for allowing them the time to perform.
